Battle Royale was a video series by the HermitCraft group, similar to Ultra Hardcore. In this series, players start in a central building where they pick their team's color. A dispenser then releases a wool block. The corresponding team then goes through the doors to have a sheep choose their class, of which there are four. They then exit the building, triggering the dispenser to fire again. This continues until the building is emptied. Players use this time to choose their starting position and prepare until the game begins. All players are given a map, which they can either use to track other players who have kept their map and be able to be tracked themselves, or throw away the map to be unseen by players with it but be unable to use the item.

Battle Royale Plugin[edit]
In addition to the redstone contraption that determines the exit order, a plugin created by "DocRedstone" is used to effect the playing area. This program allows you to set the starting area and the speed in which the area shrinks. If a player is caught outside the border area for more than ten seconds, they are immediately killed. The plugin also featured an acid rain function that wasn't utilized in the competition.[1]
Season 1[edit]
The first season featured Biffa2001, generikb, hypnotizd, joehillssays, Keralis1, Kiershar, monkeyfarm, red3yz, topmass, and Xisuma competing in a solo fight to the death. The border starts at 2000x2000 and shrinks by 50 blocks on each side every minute. monkeyfarm and topmass did not release their viewpoints for the competition.

Season 2[edit]
The second season featured returning competitors Biffa2001, hypnotizd, Keralis1, monkeyfarm, and Xisuma battling with new player shaunstatic in a solo fight to the death with the same parameters as last season. Keralis1 and monkeyfarm did not release their viewpoints of the competition, and Biffa2001 was having problems with Skype, which stopped him from joining the initial call.

Season 3[edit]
This season featured 18 people competing in pairs. This includes 10 people who played in the previous two (all competitors except for Biffa2001), along with 6 new people (CilantroGamer, Cubehamster, Jessassin, and the three members of The Pixel Nerds) and 2 guests (Docm77 and Unhost, who both later became members). In this season, the world starts out at 2200x2200 and decreases by 50 blocks on each side every minute.
