Mindcrack Marathon

The Mindcrack Marathon is an annual livestream event held by Mindcrack to raise money for a particular charity. Starting in 2015 the event started featuring both video game segments and Live Segments. It's anticipated that the group will reach over $1,000,000 raised since 2014 for Extra Life during the 2019 Mindcrack Marathon

  • The 2013 Mindcrack Marathon was a 48 hour event held on 18-20 October 2013 to raise money for Child's Play. It was divided into 3 hour segments in which a number of Mindcrackers streamed various games. In total the event raised $118,097.69 for charity, exceeding the goal of approximately $53,000.
  • The 2014 Mindcrack Marathon was a 24 hour event held on 13-14 September 2014 to raise money for Extra Life. It generally featured group-oriented games and included the first ever live UHC. In total Mindcrack raised $94,589.24 as a participant and $112,140.67 as a team for charity, exceeding the goal of $100,000.
  • The 2015 Mindcrack Marathon was a 48 hour event held on 6-8 November 2015 at the Microsoft Loft in San Francisco, establishing the standard marathon format for Extra Life. Along with various games, a number of real-world events were included for the first time. In total Mindcrack raised $218,623.94 for charity, exceeding the goal of $200,000.
  • The 2016 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 21-23 October 2016 at the Microsoft Loft in San Francisco, and was similar to the previous year. In total Mindcrack raised approximately $167,483.26 for charity including money raised during a charity UHC in spring, not meeting the goal of $200,000.
  • The 2017 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 13-15 October 2017 at Pixel Corps in San Francisco, and featured an increased focus on guests. In total Mindcrack raised approximately $265,215 for charity including money raised during a charity UHC in spring, far exceeding the goal of $200,000.
  • The 2018 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 7-9 December 2018 at the N3RDFUSION headquarters in Seattle. In total Mindcrack raised $164,882.32 for charity including money raised during the first 24 hour spring marathon.
  • The 2019 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 25-27 October 2019 in Chicago. In total Mindcrack raised $254,173.91 for charity including money raised during a 24 hour spring marathon.
  • The 2020 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 23-25 October 2020 as a remote 48 hour marathon. In total Mindcrack raised approximately $236,451.65 for charity including money raised during two live charity UHCs in the spring for Extra Life United.
  • The 2021 Mindcrack Marathon was held on 8-14 November 2021 at a mansion in Kentucky, establishing a new 7-day format with downtime each night. In total Mindcrack raised approximately $348,565.69 for charity during the fall 7-day marathon and $51,455.84 during two live charity UHCs in the spring for Extra Life United.
Other Group Charity Streams
  • An 8 hour D&D charity stream supporting RPG Research was held on 5 December 2020, raising $7,628.23 for charity.
  • A live donation UHC supporting Gone West was held on 30 April 2022, raising $7,746.53 for the not-for-profit.

Mindcrack's monthly 24 hour livestreams in 2016 were also sometimes referred to as "Mindcrack Marathons".
