Examples[edit]

YouTube:

kurtjmac (22 April 2012). "Minecraft Far Lands or Bust: #141 - The Weird Mealworm Guy". YouTube. <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtHC2whijbM>.

Reddit (use "Reddit reply" as the title for Reddit replies):

Sixelona (24 March 2012). "[Art] Far Lands or Bust!!". Reddit. <http://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/rcfwu/art_far_lands_or_bust/>

Note that author name should be the one used when the material was published, e.g. Kurt's YouTube videos are published under the name "kurtjmac" so that should be used when citing his YouTube videos.

Table[edit]

Cells within a table can be separated with a new line or on the same line with a double bar.

|}
Header Header Header
Row 1, Column 1 Row 1, Column 2 Row 1, Column 3
Row 2, Column 1 Row 2, Column 2 Row 2, Column 3

You can use HTML attributes of the table to create a cell with more than one row or column.

{| class="wikitable"
| colspan="2" | This cell occupies two columns

Rules and standards[edit]

  • MindCrack or Mindcrack? HermitCraft or Hermitcraft?

Either is fine, but MindCrack and HermitCraft are preferable because they were what Guude and generikb originally use.

  • kurtmac or kurtjmac? BdoubleO100 or BOO?

When using names for the first time on pages, lists and tables, or associating the name with a video link, it is preferable to use their Minecraft handle. See Members of the MindCrack community or HermitCraft for the list of proper names. After the handle is used, their alternative names can be used for the rest of the page for ease of reading. Please use the most common acceptable variation, e.g. BdoubleO for BdoubleO100 and MC Gamer for mcgamer.

  • "Minecraft MindCrack Server #001 - Lack of Mathematical Skills" or "#001 - Lack of Mathematical Skills"?

In most cases, the entire video title is preferable. The exception is when used within a dense table, then the title can be shortened to conserve space. Please copy and paste the entire video title especially if the title is in quotes, which denotes the exact title including spelling and grammar. If you are using the {{yt}} template, please see Template:Yt for a list of characters that can't be copied directly.

  • Listing names

Names within a list should be in alphabetical order to ease documentation. Under the "featuring" column seen in most pages, only members of the servers should be listed there. Non-members like Wolfie or those who are in call but does not make a physical appearance within the video should not be listed in that column, but they can be placed in the "notable events" column if it exist. When possible, use the handle that the member was using at the time.

  • Listing videos
All video lists should be bullet-pointed, even if the list is one-line long.
Multiple videos released within the same day should arranged by author name, even if one was released earlier in the day than the others.
You can optionally use the {{yt}} template for video lists. Example:
{{yt|id=dnWNeqG4kuQ|title=Minecraft MindCrack Server #001 - Lack of Mathematical Skills|author=kurtmac}}
  • When to use interwiki links?

Sometimes linking across to different wikis allows convenience for readers who want to read more information about the subject. Not every word should be linked. The only case where the text should be linked is if the link will provide more information on that specific subject being linked. Seemingly random and unrelated links do not look good on a page.

  • Personal information

Personal information not publicly released by the members of MindCrack themselves are not allowed on this website. Even though many of these information are in the public domain, people want to keep a sense of privacy and we should respect that. If information on the wiki is deleted due to members' personal reasons, you must state it as such, otherwise it would be treated as vandalism. If secondary sources blurt out information but the member him/herself actively hides that information, it is best to not include information from the secondary sources.

  • What content is relevant on the wiki?

On this website, any materials directly from or for MindCrack, the now-defunct Fan Server, their modded server equivalents, the now-defunct public server, PlayMindcrack, and HermitCraft are all acceptable. Collaborations outside the primary servers like OOG and CobbleHATERz‏‎, including non-Minecraft collaborations involving multiple members of the server like Chivalry, are acceptable. Non-members who are influential to the members on the servers like JustVan and large real-life events with many from the servers attending them like the Penny Arcade Expo are also acceptable. For the sake of simplicity, although there are people who extends what is relevant to as far as anything that contains a member (Far Lands or Bust for example), anything else should only appear on the member's own page or his/her subpage, e.g. kurtmac/Far Lands or Bust.

  • Images

When uploading an image from world saves, please make sure you note the date of the save in the summary box. When uploading from a screencap of a video, please add a link to the video in the summary box.

  • Skins and avatars

Use this page to create a standard skin or avatar for use on the wiki. Please contact me if there are any mistakes you notice, any improvements you want to suggest, or the source code of the page.

Use this template to add new pranks to the page. The pranks should automatically appear in the members' respective prank pages. Proper Minecraft names must be used for the noted parameters in order for the pranks to show up correctly in the members' respective pages. Please refer to the Members of the MindCrack community page for the members' proper Minecraft names.
