The HermitCraft Ultra Hardcore is a video series that uses the concept that the player can not regain health by simply having a full food bar and only through eating a golden apple. Members of the HermitCraft community partake in this event to try to stay alive as long as possible. Once the player dies, the player is out of the game. Since Season 5, a full glowstone block is dropped every time a glowstone is mined, eliminating the ability to brew Tier II potions. This series is based on Mindcrack's Ultra Hardcore series.

Season 1[edit]

Season 1 is a fight to the death between teams of 3. This season features 12 participants from the server. This match was played in snapshot version 14w18b and utilizes the new world border feature for the match. The Nether will not be used because of this feature. Over two hours, the world will shrink from 4000x4000 to 150x150. The intro used was made by Xisuma. Biffa2001 posted a trailer to this season on 6 May 2014.[1] sl1pg8r[2] and iJevin[3] lost later footage of the event.

Season 2[edit]

Season 2 is a fight to the death between teams of two. This season features 15 participants from the server plus one guest, SimplySarc. This match was played in snapshot version 14w21b and utilizes Technicube's UHC in a Box, which was highlighted by Xisuma.[4] Over three hours, the world will shrink from 2200x2200 to 300x300. This season didn't feature every person from Season 1, but included several server members who were new to the competition (Juicetra, Jessassin, Marriland_, monkeyfarm, Tinfoilchef, and topmass) along with SimplySarc as a guest. The intro used was made by Spumwack. Tinfoilchef[5] and SimplySarc lost footage of the competition.

Season 3 is a solo fight to the death, with the rule that only caves could be used to gather resources with no strip-mining or digging down. This season features 11 participants from the server. This match was played in snapshot version 14w21b on a world size of 1500x1500. This season featured 2 new competitors, falsesymmetry and zueljin. The intro was made by Xisuma.

Season 4 is a fight to the death in teams of two. This season features 10 participants from the server. This match was played in Release 1.8 and the new twist is that a player can regenerate to full health if the player kills another one. This competition contains three new contestants: MrMumbo, TangoTek, and xBCrafted. The intro was made by Xisuma.

Season 5 is a fight to the death in two teams of five. This match was played in Release 1.8 and the new twist is that each player is alone initially, only allowed to join a teammate's call when they meet up in-game.

Season 6[edit]

Season 6 is a fight to the death between two teams of six. Teams spawn in opposite corners of the 2000x2000 world. After one hour, the world border will shrink rapidly forcing a large battle between the teams in the middle of the map. This season features guests rubysown, Cubehamster and impulseSV. Cubehamster has not released Episode 4 and has unlisted the rest of the UHC. The intro was made by Xisuma.

Season 7[edit]

Season 7 is a fight to the death between five teams of two. Everytime a player earns an achievement, the player receives additional permanent buffs like speed or extra health. This season features guests rubysown, Docm77, and DraaxLP. falsesymmetry,[7] ZombieCleo,[8] Docm77,[9] and Keralis1[10] all lost parts of their footage. The intro was made by Xisuma.

Season 8[edit]

Season 8 is a fight to the death between seven teams of two. For this season, participants brought along a non-Hermit friend as teammate (slip and Jevin didn't bring a friend, and were teamed together). The dungeon spawn rate has been tripled, generation of andesite, diorite and granite disabled and ores spawn more frequently but the ores per vein has been decreased. The server was set to eternal day after three cycles. The world border started at 1500x1500, but started to shrink after three episodes of play until it was 100x100 at the 140 minute mark. Cubehamster was unable to record his point of view.[11]

Season 9[edit]

Season 9 is a fight to the death between seven teams of two. The world borders is set at 1000x1000 blocks and has not been coded to shrink. After three cycles, the server will be set to eternal day. This season is played in 1.9 snapshot 15w35e so that the competitors could play with the new combat features. Each player is given a full stack of Villager Spawn Eggs so that they can acquire the special arrows (which at this point didn't have a crafting recipe), with a gentlemen's rule to not use them to attract Zombies. Regeneration Potions, Tier II Potions, and Notch Apples have been removed from the game, and Xisuma included horses to that list due to a game glitch which made the player appear to be standing where they first got on the horse. This UHC included returning guest DraaxLP, as well as three new competitors: BdoubleO100, Etho, and Lumber. Lumber's perspective of the season is no longer available due to him deleting his channel. ijevin's footage of episodes 3, 4, and 5 were corrupted and are not available.

Season 10[edit]

Season 10 is a fight to the death between six teams of two. The world borders is set at 1000x1000 blocks and shrinks to 100x100 after 3 episodes for 3 episodes. After three cycles, the server will be set to eternal day. Players start glowing in their team color (similar to the effects of Spectral Arrows) after 4 episodes. This UHC included DraaxLP returning as a guest for the third time, joehillssays making his first appearance in 7 seasons, and 4 newcomers (cubfan135, iskall85, Renthedog, and Welsknight). The intro used was made by Xisuma.
