Mindcrack[edit]
Guude had become friends with Wes through his guest appearance in episode 58 of The Shaft Podcast in November 2011. The Shaft is a weekly Minecraft related podcast, that was then hosted by brentcopeland, EricFullerton and WesWilson.[7] Guude met The Shaft hosts at MineCon 2011 in Las Vegas, and had somehow become their "pre-MineCon" guest, appearing in episode 107 in November 2012 and also episode 155 in October 2013.[7] During that period, Wes appeared as a guest in episode 27 of the Mindcrack Podcast along with Brent and Eric.[8]
In December 2013, Wes announced he was resigning from The Shaft Podcast to work on new projects,[9] at which point Guude invited Wes to be involved with Mindcrack.[7] Much of Wes' early work with Mindcrack was as the general manger of the PlayMindcrack server, creating the server's initial moderation and customer support teams.[5] His role has since been filled by olmok, allowing him to continue with his work as Mindcrack's project coordinator.[10][11]
In May 2014, Wes joined the CrackPack server as a guest on the Better Team.[12] He had plans to work with the Thaumcraft mod,[13] but became inactive on the server.[14] In August 2014, Wes became an active participant of Mindcrack's Garry's Mod recordings.[15] Upon the reset of the CrackPack server in October 2014, Wes became active again.[16] He shared a treehouse base with Mhykol.[17]
In April 2015, Wes says he is currently not interested in joining Mindcrack as an official member.[18]
He is a moderator of /r/playmindcrack and the official Mindcrack Steam group alongside AvidyaZEN.[19]
Personal life[edit]
Wes married his wife Wendy on 29 April 2006.[20][21] They have three children together;[22] Duncan (born c. 2007), Erin (born 30 April 2009)[23][24] and Brenna (born March 2013).[25]
Wes is a supporter of the legalization of same-sex marriage.[26] Wes tweeted support of same-sex couples following the legalization of same-sex marriage in Alabama in February 2015.[27][28][29][30]
Having previously lived in Huntsville, Alabama, Wes moved to Atlanta, Georgia in July 2015[31] to start a new job at Intercontinental Exchange.[32] He plans to move his family to Atlanta with him in the future.[33]
