paulsoaresjr is an American Let's Play commentator and a former member of Mindcrack. He was invited to join the Mindcrack Server by Guude.[2] Paul made the announcement on 26 November 2012 that he would be joining the server,[3] but didn't release his first video until December 2012. On 3 April 2015, it was announced Paul would be parting ways with Mindcrack.[4]

Paulsoaresjr (Real name: Paul Soares Jr.) is known for his survival skills and his series "How to Survive and Thrive" which teaches new players how to play Minecraft, and being the first person to post Minecraft tutorials on YouTube since the alpha version. He is also a fan of the Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League,[5] the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball,[citation needed] and the New England Patriots of the National Football League.[citation needed] He currently resides in the New England Area near Boston, Massachusetts.[citation needed]

Paul is a husband and father. His wife goes by the name MinecraftMom and his three kids go by JumboMuffin, Remmi and ChiefChirpa.

Let's Play[edit]

Paul first found Minecraft in the summer of 2009 and at that time there was very little information about Minecraft or how to play the game. Paul decided to make his first video on YouTube entitled "How to Survive your first night in Minecraft" in order to help beginners learn how to play the game. His video got a lot of attention and Paul decided to make more "How to Survive in Minecraft videos".[citation needed]

Paul rarely curses, and is known for his family friendly content. In September 2013, Paul launched a new YouTube channel, "PaulieOnTap", to cater for a mature audience while keeping his original channel family-friendly.[6]

On October 21, 2017, it was confirmed to a Twitter user inquiring that Paul's Super Hostile series would no longer be continuing.[7]

Paul had been invited to join UHC Season 8 in August 2012 as a guest,[8] but was camping at the time and could not participate.[9] Paul announced on 26 November 2012 that he would be joining the server,[3] and released his first video on 11 December 2012.[10] Guude had hinted in July 2012 at the possibility of Paul joining, describing Paul as someone with more subscribers than Etho, and someone who Guude had met in person.[11]

Season 4: PSJ built a Trading stand at spawn, called Trader Jr's. He also made a Tree House as his main base. Recently, Vechs built his base very close to his treehouse. PSJ is often the victim of Vechs' pranks, due to the proximity of his base, and was the first one (besides Vechs) to know where Vechs secret base was in the Season 4 map.[citation needed]

In Season 5, PSJ began working on Tiny Towers which is based off of the mobile device game Tiny Towers. However, on April 3rd, 2015, he is no longer affiliated with Mindcrack, and so it is very unlikely that he will be continuing the project.
